Christine Katzenberg

Christine received her Bachelors of Arts in Studio Art in 1993 from Scripps College in Claremont, California. It was there that she discovered her passion for sculpture along with the artist inside. Most of her work currently is raku; the somewhat unpredictable results that can vary from so many different factors continues to fascinate, challenge, and inspire Christine. She finds that raku is in some ways an analogy of life in that she doesn't always get what she expects but must accept the final result regardless. Christine has shown her work in shows and galleries over the last several years and won awards along with the Littleton Arts Alliance Fellowship in 2004. For the last fifteen years, Christine has taught various art classes for toddlers on up to adults in drawing, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, and raku at Goodson Recreational Center. Christine finds that teaching keeps the creativity alive for her as it constantly rekindles the joy of creating. "Nothing is better than having a student succeed in a project, whether they are 3 or 75 and knowing I had something to do with that."
