Ellen Nelson

Ellen has been a professional photographer most of her life. When she was a teen, she earned money by photo-graphing the neighborhood children, printing the images in her basement darkroom and then selling them to the parents. She has worked as an event photographer, university photographer, photojournalist and free lance photographer, shooting for TIME, Ms., and Kiplinger’s magazines. Her photos have been used in advertisements worldwide and in numerous books and publications. Locally, Ellen has photographed for the Canyon Courier and Colorado Serenity magazine. Ellen is also a technical writer and engineer, giving her a unique and often analytical approach to photography. She and her husband Dave have lived in Evergreen for more than 25 years and have successfully launched a son and daughter. Ellen has integrated her passion as a photographer with her love for the Evergreen community to create the “Evergreen Scenes” note cards and prints.
