Fused Glass
Chloe is an emerging as a fused-glass artist within the gallery. We are exited about her natural ability to work with colors and designs and to learn so quickly. She is one to follow for sure!
“Growing up in Colorado, I’ve always admired the mountains. Whether skiing, hiking or driving through, I’ve always been inspired by their beauty. When it was time to figure out college, I chose Western Colorado University in Gunnison for its proximity to all things wild.
I found myself falling in love with my geology classes, so I chose to pursue that path in order to permanently secure my spot in the mountains. With my geology degree, I’ve realized my knack for rock hounding and now have a large collection of crystals and minerals I’ve collected myself. Spending so much time on the tops of peaks and discovering the treasures contained within them has inspired me to combine my passion for the natural world with my passion for art. Through my fused glass artwork, I hope to capture the beauty of the vast ranges of Colorado using the colors of the crystal gemstones I find while exploring.
The process of fusing pure silica using heat reflects the processes within the earth that create the beautiful things we find at the surface today. This new adventure has been a full circle experience for me, and I am pleased to share it with you as well. “
