Concept of this Colorado Artisan Gallery

The focus of the artwork in the gallery reflects the beautiful and awe-inspiring landscape, wildlife, light, textures, color and vibrancy of Colorado.

There are many choices of beautiful artwork to decorate your home or to buy as functional creations such as lamps, barware and dishes.

The Gallery staff helps to make selections for all of life’s special moments. You can find gifts for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduates, and for all the special holidays throughout the year.

To make gift giving even easier, we have boxes available in many sizes that fits most of our artwork to make gift-giving even more enjoyable. The boxes range from $1-5 and we can add a pretty bow for a finished look.

History of the Gallery

The Evergreen Gallery first opened in 1987 by Meryl (Howell) Sabeff, a talented potter. Although slowing down with her art, she is still currently an artist in the gallery. In 2008, Meryl sold the business to her daughter-in-law, Valerie Howell, who owned it for three years until her family became a priority.

In September 2011, Lisa Mallin became the next gallery owner. Lisa was an employee at The Evergreen Gallery for many years prior to buying the business, therefore the choice to become owner was a natural “yes!” She loved getting to know all customers and spending time with them.

Beth Riser – Gallery Owner

Lisa eventually decided to retire. In May 2017, Lisa sold the gallery to Beth Riser. Beth has been an active member of the Evergreen artist and non-profit community, including being the assistant director of the Evergreen Fine Arts Festival for several years. She is also a fine art photographer in her own right. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to become a gallery owner and loves working with artists, customers and our lovely employees.

What’s New at this Gallery

The gallery took on a new look in 2018 with the expertise of local interior designer, Alexa Cowley Interiors. The gallery closed for a month to bring on a “modern” Colorado feel. Many of the same favorite artists remain. However, new artists are also on the shelves and walls, with artwork changing almost daily. Beth is planning to expand on the concept of this well-loved Colorado artisan gallery.

As of June 2018, the 29-year-old tradition of the Evergreen Angel™ pendants became exclusively located at this gallery. The original owners of the Evergreen Angels decided to retire and close the previous location at the Evergreen Fine Art Gallery. However, this program is still going and does continue to benefit our local Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice. To learn more about the Evergreen Angels, click HERE.
